BMW F650GS launched in India for Rs.9.99 Lakhs

The luxury auto maker BMW has launched its BMW F650GS on-off road touring bike in India for a price of Rs.9.99 lakhs (ex-showroom delhi).

With the powerful water cooled twin cylinder parallel engine of 798 cc which produces maximum power of 71 bhp at 7000 rpm and peak torque of 75 Nm at 4,500 rpm. BMW F650GS goes top speed of 185kmph, which is impressive.

One of the fastest two wheelers on the Indian roads. Slightly felt over priced when compared to ducati bikes in India. Can’t blame it too much because of the high price levied on two wheelers and cars which have Import duty of 75% levied on CBU imports. (CBU stands for completely built unit outside country). Does BMW aiming at big sales anyway in Indian market ?

Also the BMW F650GS weighs around 200 kgs. The machine will be surely impressive on off roading experience. ABS is one of the best safety features in this motorcycle.

It has the long wheel base of 1575 mm which will make pillion riders with comfortable seating. The suspension on the BMW F650 GS is the tried and tested telescopic layout up front with a adjustable monoshock at the rear.

When talking about the engine performance, its fitted with dry sump lubrication technology and endless O-ring chain with shock damping system in the rear wheel end that delivers a convenient and hassle free ride. It comes with a six speed transmission and gear shifts are very smooth.

It has a length of 2,280 mm, width of 890 mm, seat height at 820 mm from ground and a height of 1240 mm in total. Fuel tank capacity of 16 litres and 4 litres reserve capacity. Front single disc 300mm diameter and rear 265mm diamater.
