On the previous post we told you about the Price list of Skoda Cars after budget 2012, this article will cover the prices of Maruti Suzuki cars after the increase in excise duty levied by Indian Union Budget 2012. As you all know, Maruti Suzuki is the largest car maker and car seller in the country. Some time back at our Facebook page, we showed you the sales of cars in the Indian market for the month of Feburary 2012. In that, Maruti Suzuki cars holds the top position such as Alto, Swift, WagonR, Dzire and few others.
Most of the Maruti Suzuki cars concentrate on the small segment cars, hatchbacks. So, the excise duty for all the small cars has been increased from 10% to 12% which resulted with the price increase upto Rs.17,000 in Maruti Suzuki vehicles. This will affect the company’s models ranging from small car Alto to mid-sized sedan SX4.
The Maruti Suzuki India, managing executive officer (marketing and sales) Mr.Mayank Pareek says that ‘The price increase on our vehicles has been an average 1.75% after the budget 2012-13.’ Below is the list of prices increased in Maruti Suzuki vehicles. All the prices which are indicated are subjected to ex-showroom delhi.
The company’s best selling Alto (800 cc) will cost Rs 4,200 to Rs 5,900 more. The next generation Alto K10 will cost Rs 5,500 to Rs 5,700 more. The Wagon R will cost Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,600 more. The premium hatchback Swift Rs 7,700 to Rs 11,900 more depending on variants and the Swift Dzire will be more expensive by Rs 8,500 to Rs 12,700. Finally the Mid-sized sedan SX4 will now cost Rs 9,400 to Rs 17,000 more.

Alto – Rs 2.4 lakh to Rs 3.42 lakh
Alto K10 – Rs 3.14 lakh and Rs 3.30 lakh
Wagon R – Rs 3.47 lakh to Rs 4.37 lakh
Swift – Rs 4.44 lakh and Rs 6.76 lakh
Swift Dzire – Rs 4.8 lakh and Rs 7.51 lakh
Sx4 – Rs 7.11 lakh to Rs 9.39 lakh
