The Czech manufacturer Skoda has planned to launch two new SUV’s which will have one larger variant of Yeti called Skoda Snowman and the compact and revamped SUV of Skoda Yeti. The Snowman is expected to debut by 2014 and the new revamped Yeti will launch by 2016. Still the latter one hasn’t revealed anything about it, but the former larger SUV has been named Skoda Snowman.
The Skoda Snowman will be based on the VW Tiguan platform sharing the similar componenets and we can expect the company’s new design VisonD concept. The Skoda Snowman features the same engine of Tiguan a 2.0-litre TDi unit, producing 170 PS of power and mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. So, we can expect front wheel drive version also apart from the 4X4 version. We can expect that the Snowman would be agressively priced when it arrives in Indian market.
The new Yeti Crossover which is planned to release by 2016 expected to inherit a platform of VW polo and current at the moment the Yeti uses Polo Mk4 and Golf Mk5 components. The new Yeti won’t have much changes over the design, but slightly a grown up vehicle with a wider track, longer wheelbase and modern appearance. So hope these two new SUV’s will be play a vital role in the Skoda’s growth.
